Sing of Our Wonderful Creator-Advent 6, 2025

You may have noticed by now that a song is part of these Advent Devotionals “God of Wonders” to-date.  Worship in song is something all of creation does…whether we hear it audibly as song or not.

The Psalmist writes, “Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.  Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for He comes, He comes to judge the earth” (Psalm 96:11-13). 

There is something remarkably stirring in what Pastor Louie Giglio presented as a DJ mix of the sound of stars and whales introduced individually earlier in the full link above that you can see in this shortened version…how a “symphony of praise” follows our God of wonders every moment whether we join our voices or not. Ready to be stirred in your spirit? This is what he got (final compilation of stars and whales at 46:30 mark in the original above) or in the shortened version.

Principle: All of creation sings a “symphony of praise” to our wonderful Creator.

Aim: Worship Him lest the rocks cry out (Luke 19:40).

At Christmas, a prayer:  Lord Jesus, the angels sang at Your birth.  May we rise in song to celebrate Your first Advent (Your birth 2000 years ago) and sing in our souls 24/7 until we join the heavenly chorus at Your return. All creation sings of Your glory!  You are amazing, Lord, awesome in power, terrifying in wrath, overflowing in mercy to those who look only to You for their salvation, and so loving and gentle with the brokenhearted!  Lord, we cherish being able to add our voices to the symphony of praise of all creation who worships You!  You didn’t need us, but in humility, You invited us to praise You and now all we can do is praise and thank You for being our Savior today and always.  Amen.

• The 2016 season devotionals were called “Timeless: The Message of Christmas for All Ages” and explored how the message of Christmas is timeless truth, for all ages of people, and for all ages at all times.  Timeless hope, encouragement, grace, peace, and love as we looked into the Word, saw the face of our Lord Jesus, and experienced restoration in His presence.  His goodness and His Gospel are truly Timeless. The 2016 devotionals began November 27, 2016.
• The 2015 season devotionals were titled Incarnation and involved digging deep–and yes, I mean deep– in this important mystery of Christian theology.  They began November 29, 2015.
