Keep Your Head in the Game- Lent 29, 2022

Things are getting really heated and the war will begin soon. As we continue our look at “Revelation in 40” for Lent, the way has been prepared for the adversaries to show up and engage in their demonically inspired war.

Revelation 16:12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.

The pressure upon the remaining believers who are alive during the battle of Armageddon is tremendous. The adversaries of God’s people seem to have all the power and alliances.

Revelation 16:13 Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty…

Like a good coach, mentor, or military commander, Jesus calls out to His followers:

“Look, I come like a thief!
Blessed is the one who stays awake
and remains clothed,
so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
Revelation 16:15

Don’t get distracted. Keep your head in the game!
All the way to the finish line!!
Almost there! You can do it!

Revelation 16:16 Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

Thoughts for today:

If you felt pressure to engage in the COVID lockdowns, mask-wearing, and mandatory vaccination, you know something of the spiritual pressure the believers will feel at the end of days. Where do you go for encouragement to stand firm in your faith?

Why do you think Jesus interjected an appeal, a caution, a warning as the narrative relentlessly presses forward toward the battle of Armageddon?
