My Vision of Your Appointing Persons-Lent 23, 2020

Prayer Focus: God raises up workers and brings down rulers

Thank You, Sovereign Lord, for Your plan which is simultaneously eternal and expansive while also being as personal as electing each one of us to serve You while were still in our mothers’ wombs. Thank You that our actions matter, that You reward the humble of heart and lift us when we are discouraged. Thank You that our desires for serving You in accordance with Your will are always something You desire to bless. Thank You also that You cannot be bought with wealth or earthly power, that the proud and the self-proclaimed elite among us need Your saving grace as much (if not more than those whose hearts have always been Yours). Help us not to compare our God-given roles to another’s. Help us to stay in our own lane, doing Your will–each of us–with cheerful hearts. I pray for our nation and our leaders, that they might have wisdom and spiritual discernment to see Your Spirit on the move. We’re admonished in Scripture to treat every day as if it’s the Day of Your return. Help us to be wick-trimmed and oil-ready, quick with the Gospel of hope to those who need to hear it when time is of the essence, able to comfort others with the comfort we have received from You, and discerning among spirits because the times are challenging. May we be like Bereans and study the Scriptures to know what is real and what is false in our world. Keep us strong and focused. Keep our eyes on You for there is no one else who can save us and who offers us the Word of life. May we be Your warriors, not worriers when You appoint us to take a stand for You. I am Yours, Lord. Send me. Amen.
